You don’t want Christmas all the time, but when hot buns come out of the oven, Klarezaak.
We recorded this album 3 years ago, in the heart of winter. We weren’t quite sure at the time what we had made – the arguments, a broke-down car, some rust between us – but the raw materials were there, and little by little we found the form and shape that tells the story.
Schaatsen, you might ask, is the Dutch word for ice-skating – something that appeared as we were listening; an image from an older world that tickled as it passed us by. Hoping it will take you somewhere warm, we invite you to take a listen, ease back and have a sip of something nice. Maybe we will even join you, someday when the time is right.
